Internal Audit is a key function in ensuring Auckland Council adopts processes, practices, and behaviours that uphold and promote our values and strategic interests. By maintaining impartiality, independence, and transparency, the team plays a crucial role in strengthening good governance. In this role, you’ll gain valuable exposure to our senior leadership team and the Audit and Risk Committee, with opportunities to prepare and present governance papers that influence decision-making at the highest level.
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Auditor to lead the planning, development, execution, and delivery of audit activities across Auckland Council.
In this role, you’ll ensure that our processes, practices, and behaviours reflect our values of impartiality, independence, and transparency. You’ll play a vital part in strengthening good governance, maintaining trust, and supporting positive outcomes for our city.

You’ll bring a strong background in internal or external audit or risk management, ideally within a complex local government, public, or private sector environment. With proven experience influencing senior stakeholders, you’ll combine analytical rigour with excellent interpersonal skills.

The salary range is between $115k - $125k depending on skillset and experience.
